The 23rd of March was held in Brussels the twelfth meeting of the Commission Expert Group on Quality Investment in Education and Training. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the stakeholder’s feedback for the final report, the structure and key deadlines of the mentioned document and also the contribution of the Expert Group to the Learning Lab on Investing in Quality Education and Training.

The overall idea of the Lab is to provide relevant authorities in the Member States with knowledge, tools, methods, and resources they could use for evaluating the cost-effectiveness of their public spending on education. The Commission acknowledged the contributions made by the members of the expert group on this topic, emphasising that the creation of the Lab is the result of the ongoing efforts within the expert group. COM highlighted that the main aim of the Learning Lab is to contribute to establishing a culture for policy evaluation in education in the EU, although its practical implementation is still to be defined.
